We at Portland North Dental Associates pride ourselves on presenting a caring, friendly environment in which we provide complete state of the art dentistry. Whether one has been a patient with us for years or if it is their first visit, we hope that they will enjoy their experience with us for many years to come.

As new patients arrive into our office, they become part of our dental "family." We do everything we can to help relieve the stress and anxiety that may accompany visiting the dentist by creating a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere for our patients. For example, patients often hesitate at the need for dental x-rays due to their fear of radiation. As a result, we introduced a digital x-ray system (x-rays without film) to our office which reduces the amount of radiation for the patient by 75%. We are also aware patients are not fond of the sound of the dental handpiece or "drill". Fortunately, at Portland North Dental, we use electric handpieces. Not only is the handpiece more efficient, the sound output is much less. We also encourage the use of headphones to play one's choice of music as a way to relax. 

Another way that we accomplish a stress-free atmosphere is through our staff. Our treatment coordinators, Dianne and Maureen, are available to help with any personal questions that may arise regarding appointments, planned treatment or that already performed. In addition to the knowledge of our treatment coordinators, our front desk manager, Christine, can help answer any questions that our patients may have regarding appointments, accounts or insurance.

We assure each patient the highest quality dental care by making use of the latest technologies and techniques available. Each member of our staff regularly attends continuing education courses. In addition, we are constantly adding new equipment and procedures to make our office "State of the Art."

Our office has been computerized since 1980 and we have been constantly upgrading our systems. We now have all of our information on computers including patient charts, x-rays, accounting, scheduling, and other routine information. This allows us easy access to all information so that we may serve our patients more completely and more timely.

Existing technology in the office include intra-oral photographs, photo-imaging, digital x-rays and interactive education programs. The photographs, x-rays and education software can be seen by the patient and staff on the computer screens in each room, thereby allowing the patient to co-diagnose any dental problems with us and better understand any solutions or alternatives. The photo-imaging allows the patient or family members to "see a result" even before a procedure is performed. The digital x-rays "develop" the image directly onto the computer system which allows for quicker diagnosis, and is also friendlier to the environment as there are no processing chemicals to dispose.

Other technology in our office includes the DIAGNOdent; a small laser instrument which scans your teeth searching for hidden decay. Also in the office is our arc-light curing system. The technology behind the arc-light allows us to cure materials 10 times faster than the average curing light, thereby reducing the amount of time for the patient’s procedure.

We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive care to all of our patients. Patients don't like to feel that they are being sent away to a specialist for anything unless other than very basic dental needs. Here at Portland North Dental Associates we do more than just cleanings and fillings. Patients at our office do not get lost in the shuffle or become a victim of miscommunication between multiple doctors. Besides routine procedures, we offer implants, prosthetic replacements, gum treatment, root canals, oral surgery, and limited orthodontics. By providing essentially everything to our patients, we minimize the need for referral to multiple other doctors (see our complete list of procedures performed). We also offer the best possible techniques for all types of cosmetic dentistry. Whatever the reasons are (stains, crooked positions, gaps or decay) we excel at correcting the problem. Whatever our patients’ needs, we strive to give them a dazzling smile.

We also work hard to make sure our patients receive every benefit they may be entitled to from third party payers. Our staff has extensive experience in insurance matters and fully understands the benefits deserved by our patients.

We enjoy seeing patients of all ages from very young children to the elderly. Our office is conveniently located with plenty of free parking.
